Crossroads is a Christ-Centered… Gospel-Oriented… Biblically-Ordered… Church
Christ-Centered:
The Whole Bible: John 5:39 You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.
The Whole Universe: Colossians 1:16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.
Head of the Church: Colossians 1:18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
Gospel-Oriented (Good News)
Call to preach the Gospel: Mark 16:15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
What is the Gospel? John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
God: Holy, Creator, Love
Humankind: Image bearer, fallen in sin
Christ: Son of God, Redeemer
Response: Repentance… Faith… Ongoing Discipleship
To join a biblical church you must:
Know the Gospel
Embrace Christ as Savior and Lord
Know the power of the Gospel
1 Thessalonians 1:5 For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and in much assurance, as you know what kind of men we were among you for your sake.
The Gospel Permeates all of the Life of the Church: Philippians 2:1-11
Biblically-Ordered
1 Timothy 3:15 but if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of truth.
