Living a Life of Eager Waiting: The 2nd Coming of Christ, Glorified Bodies
We all have unique relationships with our bodies....sometimes thats, good some times frustrating, sometimes painful. Part of the hope of the Christian is a transformed and glorified body...and rather than just a future dream it has a present impact on struggles we have now.
1 Thessalonians 4:18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.
2 Corinthians 5:2-4 2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven, 3 if indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found naked. 4 For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life.
Revelation 1:13-17 13 and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band. 14 His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire; 15 His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters; 16 He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength. 17 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. Philippians 3:20-21 20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.
Romans 8:19 19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.
Romans 8:23 23 Not only that, but we also who have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.

But it is immortals whom we joke with, work with, marry, snub, and exploit - immortal horrors or everlasting splendors.”
